I came from a pretty sad place, but I can't remember it much any more. Mom talks about it in whispers because she does not want to bring up bad memories for me. When I first got here, after riding for hours and hours in two different cars, I was just exhausted and only wanted to sleep and sleep.
Progress updates are posted below.

October 12 - From Old Miss
Ola'
Get it? That is Mexican for "Hello!!" How's everyone? I am just fine and dandy. I have gained weight and eat almost everything in my bowl, now. Whew, but Mom gives me BIG bowls of Lamb dog food mixed with rice and other stuff. I eat untill I look like a guppy and Mom says to "Finish up, Missy!"
I'm lookin' pretty good, huh? I think the dips might be finished, but Dr. Bill says I need one more test. He says my teeth are pretty bad, but will wait for a dental, becasue he wants me real healthy. I have one tooth that is loose, loose. Mom says it wiggles in my mouth like a pole in dry gound. (Must be another of her southern expressions) I came in the house when Aunt Sandra came over and I was so excited to see her, that I jumped up and ran in circles! Mom was delighted to see me trying to play and gave me a treat. (I will for sure do that again! Anything for the treat!!)
Here is a picture of me in Aunt Sandra's lap. She says I have a great ear set and should go in to the ring in the senior division. Well!!! Blue ribbons, here I come!!
I want to thank all my supporters out there who are helping me and my fellow ex-Oak Grove Jacks. We are all so thankful for folks like ya'll and we want you to know we will not ever forget you!
Sadly, we have lost Annie Sill. I think she might have been a litter mate of mine, or maybe a half-litter mate. She has crossed the Bridge. Mom and me said a doggy prayer for her.
Adios!!

Howdy. My name is Old Miss. Mom calls me Missy, or Old Grammy, sometimes she calls me GrannyGrunt.
I came from a pretty sad place, but I can't remember it much any more. Mom talks about it in whispers because she does not want to bring up bad memories for me. When I first got here, after riding for hours and hours in two different cars, I was just exhausted and only wanted to sleep and sleep. Then, I got to eat! All the time! Rice and chicken and lamb stuff and treats and Oh!! I was in doggy heaven. I got my own bed with soft cushy binkies that are only mine; I don't have to share. I had to take pills for skin wounds and infections for two weeks, but that was OK, 'cause Mom rolled them up in CHEESE!! The other dogs like me real fine; because of me, we ALL got cheese snacks twice a day!
The only thing I am NOT crazy about is the weekly dips for mange, but I only have to go about 8 times. Fridays are my special vet days and the vet techs all think I am so brave! Last time Dr, Bill said I needed all my hair shaved, to get rid of all the "dandruff" caused by my skin flaking off. Whew, it feels good to have a crew cut, as I am not so itchy now. Mom combs me with a little bitty comb she says takes out the dandruff stuff. It tickles. Mom says she loves me lots and thinks I ought to stay here for a pretty long time. I am no spring chicken, she says, and it will take me a long time to heal up.
There are many of my relatives, friends and probably some of my puppies in Russell Rescue right now. They are all over the Unite4d States. Mom says they are all getting better and better, but most of them had some problems similar to mine. I don't know anything about that, because I never saw anyone at the other place.
If you'd like to meet me, Mom says we are going to go to a "Play day" in October in Brenham (hey! Where the cows are!) And I get to meet some of the folks that have been helping Russell Rescue. Mom says ya'll come on down! I will show you my special trick of prancing like a race horse!

Hey! It's me again, Missy. AKA GrannyGoose. (And other names. My Mom has a strange sense of humor.)
I am doing pretty well, let me tell you! People who meet me always says silly things like Awwww, you poooor little thing. HA! I got them fooled! Mom tells me to quit looking so pitiful, because it is not nice to fool folks. I am in pretty good shape. Dr, Bill says I look 200% better than when I first came in, a month ago. I really like this rescue thing Mom has going on here.
