Jack Russell Terrier in need of medical assistance
Last Update: Sept 12, 2008
Location: Centerville, Virginia
Dog Name: Petey
Sex: Male
Age: 5 years
Known Issues: Kidney Stones/Surgery
Background
Petey

Petey is a lovely, well-behaved dog. Unfortunately, his owners did not feel they were able financially to help him and so they released him to Russell Rescue. In order to save his life, Petey needs to have surgery to have kidney stones removed. One is already traveling toward the urethra and this could spell disaster for Petey. We need your help for this sweet little guy. He adores children and will make someone a wonderful family pet once he's had his surgery.

Progress updates are posted below.

Hello Everyone,

I'm doing very well since I had those nasty Kidney stones removed. I'm playing, showing off my tricks and trying to show the other terriers in my foster home whose boss! Thank you for helping me get well again!

Love, Petey

I am recovering very nicely from my surgery and have moved to a new foster home. My new foster mom, has lots of dogs for me to play with. I'm playing very nicely with all of them and have enjoyed exploring her big yard. I feel ever so much better and am even starting to show off my bag of "tricks". I especially love "BEG"!! I'm getting more interested in squeeky toys and balls, too. Love, Petey.

Wow! Do I feel soooo much better now that I don't have all those stones in my bladder. I got my stitches out today and everything looks great. I feel so good that today I did some "zoomies" around the yard and played with my foster mom. Thanks for all your help! Love, Petey.

I've had my surgery which went very well. I'm feeling, oh, so much better! I feel so wonderful that I'm starting to play tug and with my balls. I also am showing my foster mom all my tricks - sit, down, sit up, roll over!! Gee it's great to feel good again! Love, Petey.
