Lucy – Happy Tails!

This fuzzy wuzzy is Lucy!  Her owner could no longer care for her, so she joined the Russell Rescue, Inc. family in June of this year.  Lucy was a popular girl!  No one can resist that fuzzy face!  She found a wonderful home and was adopted in July.  Lucy has settled in well and is loving life!!  Happy Tails Lucy!

Happy Halloween from the Jack Pack!

The Jack Pack wanted to wish everyone a Happy Halloween!  From left to right in the first photo, we have Rosie (pink), Woody (that hair!), Indy 500 (red bow) and Moose.  Rosie, Woody and Moose were adopted from Russell Rescue, Inc.  These guys like to stay busy!  Rosie, Woody and Indy 500 are registered Pet Partners therapy dogs.  Moose is in training for his evaluation next year.  These JRT’s got a second chance because someone fostered them and then someone adopted them.  They hit the jackpot when they found their forever home!

Mulligan Moose is the newest addition to the Jack Pack.  His mom doesn’t know his actual birthday (since he was rescued from a shelter), but she gave him National Mulligan Day as his birthday to celebrate not only him, but second chances.  His mom says that “life is full of chances and second chances do not come by so often.  However, if you are playing golf then you have more chances of getting a second chance of playing your stroke.  While National Mulligan Day is a celebration of the Mulligan, related more to the game of golf, it is a celebration of the second chances that people deserve (and animals too).”

We think it’s pretty awesome that all these guys got their second chance!  Consider fostering with Russell Rescue, Inc. and give a JRT a second chance at life.  We cover all the expenses and you provide the TLC.  Apply to foster here.

Happy Halloween from the Jack Pack!

Jacklyn – Happy Tails!

Jacklyn joined the Russell Rescue, Inc. family in June of this summer.  She came to us when her owner could no longer care for her.  Jacklyn was quickly adopted and is loving her forever home.  She absolutely loves squirrel duty from her favorite window.  And Amazon will never sneak up on her house!  Happy Tails Jacklyn!

Shadow – Happy Tails!

You will probably remember this senior girl.  Her name is Shadow.  She came to Russell Rescue this summer when her owner passed away.  Shadow had been loved on and cared for her entire life.  Shadow was understandably confused and sad when she came to Russell Rescue.  But she is doing amazing in her forever home now!  Shadow found a great home recently and her mom shared some pics and updates on how she’s doing.  She is loved and spoiled and has settled in very well.  She even has a buddy to keep her company.  Happy Tails Shadow!

Welcome to Russell Rescue – Miss Lucky!

Say hi to our beautiful Miss Lucky.  She is 2 years old and is very much a little lady.  So far we have discovered that she likes to play with toys.  Still figuring out the doggie door at her foster’s home and it is a bit of a challenge, but she is getting there.  Her vet visit is in 2 days and then she will be posted for adoption here.  Welcome to the Russell Rescue family Miss Lucky!

Welcome to Russell Rescue – Ranger!

This cutie is named Ranger.  He’s about 2 years old and has had his vet visit since joining the Russell Rescue family recently.  He seems a little shy at first, but after a minute he wants in your lap.  Not sure about house training or if he likes other dogs.  He is new to Russell Rescue so we are still getting to know him.  We may have an adopter for Ranger already though!  Stay tuned for updates on this guy.  If he becomes available for adoption, he will be posted here.  Welcome to the Russell Rescue family Ranger!  We are going to take great care of you!

Welcome to Russell Rescue!  Say “howdy” to Atticus.  He’s 2 years old and a little stick of dynamite that resides in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  He needs a vet visit and then he will be ready to go.  And I do mean go!  You need to have your running shoes on for this one.  He will be ready for adoption in a couple of weeks so keep an eye out here for his post!  Welcome to the Russell Rescue family Atticus!

Max – Update!

You may remember us introducing you to little Max.  He’s a 14 year old senior guy.  He came to Russell Rescue not long ago.  His owner could not take care of him any longer due to her health.  Max was well loved for many years.  Max has settled into his foster home and is doing pretty well.  He does have an eye infection in his right eye that seems to be happening on both eyes now instead of just the one.  There is a mature cataract in the right eye.  Max went to the vet this past week and got a different ointment and a new antibiotic to see if they will help.  The vet ran some tests and the pressures in his eyes are good, and he has good tear production, but the right eye has a corneal defect/superficial ulcer in the center.  Max also has a skin infection on his scrotum that the vet is treating with oral antibiotics and a medication for the inflammation.  He also got a medicated shampoo that his foster mom will use on him twice a week.  Max had some blood work done and all his important organs are in good condition, so that’s great news!  We are hoping for improvement in a couple of days with the new meds.  Max is still happy and easy going and he’s eating and sleeping well.  He also enjoys the company of his roommates!  Stay tuned for more updates on our little senior guy!

Max will be available for adoption soon.  Watch for his post, including his adoption requirements, here on our website.  Anyone interested in adopting Max can apply here.  We don’t ship our dogs, so his adopter will need to travel to Pennsylvania to get him.

Russell Rescue could use your help with the vet bills for Max.  They are starting to add up.  Any and all donations are appreciated so much!  Russell Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation.  Donations made to Russell Rescue, Inc. are tax-deductible to the contributor.
